U.S Rep. Ander Crenshaw (R-FL) applauded the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) on Friday for receiving the 2015 Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Environment Award.
Established in 1994, the CNO Environmental Awards Program recognizes the contributions of Navy installations and service members to environmental stewardship.
FRCSE also received the 2015 CNO award in the sustainability, industrial installation division, as well as the 2014 CNO award in the environmental quality, industrial installation division.
“The men and women at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast at Naval Air Station Jacksonville have demonstrated teamwork in keeping our Naval aircraft functioning in every way, shape and form,” Crenshaw, a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, said. “Honored in 2014 and now again in 2015, they deserve a big thank you for their excellence on a wide range of operations with environmental stewardship as a guidepost. This top Navy award couldn’t go to a more deserving group.”
Employing 3,000 civilians, 1,000 military personnel and 1,000 contractors, FRCSE is among the largest industrial employers in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.
The FRC provides re-work operations on weapons systems, accessories and equipment. The FRC also manufactures and assembles parts and provides engineering services that assist in the development of new hardware. The FRC also provides technical and professional services in the realm of aircraft maintenance and logistics, among other assignments.
