Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval recently joined a bipartisan group of governors in announcing a bipartisan commitment to promote clean energy, clean transportation and a modern electrical grid.
Sandoval is among 17 governors who signed the Governors’ Accord for a New Energy Future. The accord enables participating governors to forge and leverage new partnerships that assist with energy planning and policymaking.
“Nevada is considered a national leader in renewable energy development, innovation and commercialization,” Sandoval said. “This bipartisan accord provides a platform for Nevada to leverage new partnerships, gain and share knowledge and an opportunity to introduce our energy advancements to other states.”
Governors who signed the accord pledged that their states would continue to diversify energy sources, expand clean energy sources, modernize infrastructure and encourage the development of clean transportation options.
“I remain committed to pursue policies that will allow Nevada to continue to lead the nation in renewable energy production, energy conservation and the exportation of energy,” Sandoval said. “Nevada has many energy accomplishments and will continue to seek opportunities that build upon our existing programs and create new pathways to ensure that our energy sector remains one of the cleanest in the country.”
Pursuing new energy solutions will enable states to grow economies and protect the health and welfare of citizens, according to the Governors’ Accord for a New Energy Future.
