U.S. Reps. Dave Joyce (R-OH) and Jay Obernolte (R-CA) joined their Democratic colleagues in relaunching the bipartisan House Manufacturing Caucus on March 21.
Rep. Joyce and Rep. Obernolte are co-chairs of the caucus alongside fellow co-chairs U.S. Reps. Haley Stevens (D-MI) and Chris Deluzio (D-PA).
“Ohio’s billion-dollar manufacturing industry is the cornerstone for economic and job growth in the region,” Rep. Joyce said. “I am honored to continue to help lead this caucus to amplify the voices of manufacturers in Congress.”
Now more than ever, he added, congressional members must ensure American manufacturers have the workforce and technology necessary to compete in the 21st Century.
“This caucus will work to ensure manufacturers in Ohio, and across the country, remain at the forefront of the industry,” said Rep. Joyce.
Founded in 2003, the House Manufacturing Caucus hosts briefings and roundtable discussions with industry leaders, government officials, and academic experts, and acts as a resource for members and their staff to learn more about the opportunities and challenges facing America’s manufacturing sectors.
Additionally, the caucus aims to provide lawmakers with information to help constituents and spur job creation in manufacturing and associated industries.
“The resurgence of American manufacturing will lead to better-paying, higher-quality jobs, stronger supply chains, and a more secure future for our country,” said Rep. Obernolte. “The Manufacturing Caucus will focus on delivering real results for American workers, families, and businesses — and as a member of the Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade Subcommittee, I’m proud to help lead that effort.”
