McMorris Rodgers helps to bolster opportunities for Hispanic-Americans

U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) met with several faith community leaders from the Esperanza organization last week to discuss the growing importance of preserving religious freedom, educational opportunities for the Hispanic community and the future of immigration reform.

Esperanza is a nationwide faith-based community group works to empower Hispanic communities through strengthening education, economic development and advocacy programs.

“I am proud to join Esperanza in our shared commitment to empower the American people,” McMorris Rodgers said. “That’s what Esperanza does for members of America’s vibrant Hispanic community. Through their advocacy, they empower Hispanic-Americans to embrace opportunities and offer hope for a better life. Esperanza understands that economic opportunities begin in the classroom, and I am so thankful for all the work they have done to advocate for charter schools.”

As part of her relationship with Esperanza, McMorris Rodgers gave a speech at the group’s annual conference in Washington, D.C. last month.
