The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has included U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-N.J.) among the group of lawmakers it recognizes as a Guardian of Small Business based on his voting record during the 113th Congress.
The award is presented annually to lawmakers who vote favorably on key small business issues.
Lance was cited for pushing through legislation that gives workers more flexibility, boosts American-made energy production, redefines a full-time employee as it relates to the Affordable Care Act and provides tax relief to small businesses.
“Small businesses are the engine that drives our economy forward,” Lance said . “Seven in 10 jobs are created because of small businesses, and as representatives we must give them the tools they need to grow, expand and create jobs. I am proud to receive this award and will continue to support New Jersey’s small businesses.”
NFIB President and CEO Dan Danner said the award reflects its members’ appreciation for supporting a pro-growth agenda for small business.
“Small-business owners are very politically active – paying close attention to how their lawmakers vote on key business issues and stand by those who stand for them,” he said.
