Campaign strategists discuss key races with The Ripon Society

Veteran campaign strategists Guy Harrison and Rob Jesmer discussed key races and critical states in the Republican party’s push to control Congress after Tuesday’s election during a luncheon last week sponsored by The Ripon Society.

Harrison, a partner at OnMessage Inc., was the executive director of the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2010, when Republicans gained 63 seats to take the majority in the House of Representatives. Jesmer, a partner at FP1 Strategies, oversaw a five-seat Republican gain in the Senate during his four-year stint as executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Ripon Society President and CEO Jim Conzelman said Harrison and Jesmer “did a great job providing clarity to some of the key races and explaining where things stand in some of the critical states.”

More than 80 people attended the luncheon, which was part of The Ripon Society’s 2014 Policy & Politics Series. The 25th installment of that series will be a breakfast discussion with Deputy Majority Whip Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) on Dec. 11. It will focus on the legislative agenda on Capitol Hill next year.
