U.S. Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY) helped secure $2 million in federal funding for the proposed Central Kentucky Triple Crown Business Park, a massive economic development project in his home state.
“This $2 million investment puts Kentucky first,” Rep. Barr said on Feb. 13. “I’m proud to have led the effort to include this project in the latest America First funding bill and that we were able to get this across the finish line.”
Funding for the regional project will come from the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, H.R. 7148, which the president signed into law earlier this month.
The $2 million in funds will support the development of the new regional business park, which is aimed at attracting employers, creating jobs, and strengthening central Kentucky’s long-term economic competitiveness.
In addition to site preparation, the funds will support critical infrastructure improvements necessary to bring new employers and employees to the region, including transportation access and utility readiness, staff said.
“By advancing the Triple Crown Business Park, we’re creating the infrastructure businesses need to invest, hire, and grow right here in the Sixth District,” Rep. Barr said. “This project strengthens our local economy, attracts new jobs, and improves the quality of life for families across central Kentucky.”
The collaborative partnership between Lexington-Fayette Urban County, Madison County, Scott County, and the City of Berea in Kentucky is advancing economic development across the region, according to the congressman’s office.
Several Kentucky leaders from those groups thanked Rep. Barr for his support, including Scott County Judge/Executive Joe Pat Covington; Berea Mayor Bruce Fraley; Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton; Madison County Judge/Executive Reagan Taylor; and Commerce Lexington President and CEO Bob Quick.
