Miller applauds ET Rover’s decision to use existing pipeline

Following Monday’s announcement from ET Rover Pipeline that virtually eliminates the need for any new natural gas pipeline to be constructed in Michigan, Rep. Candice Miller (R-MI), who serves the affected region, released a statement.

“I applaud ET Rover’s decision to partner with Vector Pipeline and use existing infrastructure to deliver its natural gas to Michigan and Canada,” Miller said. “This is truly a win-win for the local communities in my district that have recently been under a great deal of stress over the potential construction of new pipeline.”

ET Rover announced it has entered a contract with Vector Pipeline to use infrastructure in place to transport their natural gas. It was previously thought that the company would construct a new pipeline, raising concern among area residents.

“I sent a letter (in October) to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission asking that they thoroughly and transparently address the concerns raised by the residents that would be impacted,” Miller said. “I have long advocated for greater access to energy, and that obviously means additional infrastructure to transport it, but we must ensure that we do it in a way that minimalizes disruption for homeowners and local communities. Now, as a result of this contract, local residents will gain greater access to affordable energy without the hassle and worries associated with new construction. This decision is a welcome end to this entire process.”
