Crenshaw supports military, fairness for the disabled and a strengthened economy

Rep. Ander Crenshaw (R-Fla.) has had many legislative accomplishments in this past session of Congress, and states that he will continue to fight to get legislation passed to support the military, fairness in taxes for all citizens and to establish tax-free savings accounts for the disabled in the upcoming session.

“We are at a critical cross-roads in so many areas. National security, government accountability and fiscal responsibility are some of the issues to top that list,” he said.

As a member of the Defense Appropriations sub-committee, Crenshaw is committed to ensuring that the budget allows for all of the means necessary to support the military and national security. His dedication to the military earned him the Navy’s highest honor for a civilian, the Distinguished Public Service Award.

Crenshaw also serves as the chairman of the House Financial Services and Government Appropriations Subcommittee. Under his leadership, $1.4 million in cuts for IRS funding were passed through the House in the 113th Congress.

“These cuts are forcing the IRS to clean up its act, and I’m proud to have put them in place,” he said.

Moving forward, Crenshaw hopes that legislation will be passed that will help strengthen the economy and make taxes fair for everyone. He supports Fair Tax legislation that repeals the current tax system.

In the upcoming Congress, Crenshaw will continue to focus on the passing of the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act (ABLE) legislation, which gives tax-free savings accounts to individuals with disabilities.

“It’s closer to passage than ever before, and teamwork will push it over the finish line,” Crenshaw said.
