U.S. Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH) proposes a resolution expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should support, and not limit access to, all domestic energy sources in an effort to achieve full energy security.
“Thanks to America’s energy renaissance, more oil and natural gas are being produced domestically than by any other nation in the world,” Rep. Latta said on Sept. 26. “While this is good news, the fact that the United States still imports 29 percent of all its petroleum from OPEC countries is a sign that our government should be doing everything we can to support all domestic sources of energy development in an effort to achieve full energy security.”
Rep. Latta’s resolution encourages continued technological innovation and adoption of an all-of-the-above domestic energy approach, according to the congressman’s office.
