Dold marks Earth Day by joining Climate Solutions Caucus

U.S. Rep. Robert Dold (R-IL) announced on Friday that he has joined the Climate Solutions Caucus, a bipartisan task force that aims to find economically viable solutions to climate change in the House of Representatives.

The bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus, formed in February by U.S. Reps. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) and Ted Deutch (D-FL), organizes events to educate legislators about the challenges climate change poses to the economy, national security, environment and infrastructure.

“As an Eagle Scout and scoutmaster for many years, I know firsthand why we must all work to strengthen conservation programs and other policies that promote public health, protect our environment and keep our air clean,” Dold said. “Climate change is occurring and human contributions to this change are important to acknowledge and understand. Protecting the environment is not a partisan issue, which is why we must work together to find a sensible path forward that improves our planet for future generations.”

Curbelo said that he was pleased that the Climate Solutions Caucus could welcome two new members — Dold and U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) — on Earth Day.

“We warmly welcome Rep. Dold and Rep. Moulton, and look forward to hearing their thoughts and feedback,” Curbelo said. “As our newly formed caucus continues to grow, I am confident that both parties will be able to collaborate on ideas through constructive dialogue and an ardent passion for helping our environment.”
