Tiberi cheers awarding of grant to Delaware, Ohio, airport for upgrades

U.S. Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-OH) congratulated the City of Delaware, Ohio, this week after it received a Department of Transportation (DOT) grant award, providing funds to finance improvements at Delaware Municipal Airport’s Jim Moore Field.

Tiberi said the grant award, totaling $4.27 million, will help improve safety features at the airport facility. “Extending the runway and resurfacing both the runway and taxiway will improve passengers’ experience,” Tiberi said.

Specifically, the purpose of the grant is to extend and rehabilitate the runway. Delaware Municipal Airport’s Jim Moore Field is one of the top general aviation facilities in Central Ohio, with approximately 80 aircraft housed there, based on its size and operations of  over 40,000 flights per year.

Tiberi has represented Ohio’s 12th District in the House since 2001. Born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1962, Tiberi previously served in the Ohio House from 1993 to 2000. Tiberi was educated at Ohio State University and serves on the following committees: Ways and Means Committee and Republican Main Street Partnership Committee.
