New York’s Tioga Fire District will receive $94,000 grant for new equipment

U.S. Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) presented good news to his constituents this week, announcing that the Tioga (NY) Fire District will be awarded a $94,000 grant, to go along with a loan of $186,000 to be used for new firefighting equipment.

“I care about our first responders,” Reed said. “It’s only fair that our firefighters have access to the resources they need to continue to perform vital services for our communities. Protecting public safety is one of the most important functions of government and I am pleased to see Tioga get these resources.”

The new funds will be used to purchase a new pumper truck for the district facility.

The Tioga Fire District includes 15 volunteer fire departments and is based in Oswego, New York.
