Reed’s office offers resources to assist veterans

reminds veterans and their families that his office is available should they need help with the Department of Veterans Affairs or other government agencies in matters related to their military service or benefits.

“I care about our service men and women and their families,” Reed said. “It’s only fair that we fight for them after they have sacrificed so much for us and our country.”

Since Reed took office in 2010, his staff has handled almost 2,000 veteran- and military-specific related cases, including over 200 the past six months. His staff includes a dedicated veteran’s caseworker.

Reed was first elected to represent the 29th District of New York in a special election held Nov. 2, 2010. He took office during the “lame duck” session of the 111th Congress and began his full two-year term in the 112th Congress on Jan. 5, 2011. Reed was re-elected on Nov. 6, 2012 to serve a two-year term in the new 23rd District.
