U.S. Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA) signed on earlier this week as an original co-sponsor of House Resolution 367, which reiterates disapproval of President Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran.
“In reviewing the agreement and hearing from Secretary of State John Kerry and other Obama administration officials, it is even clearer that this is a perilous deal for the American people, Israel and our other allies in the Middle East,” Comstock said. “Back in March, I signed a bipartisan letter along with 367 of my colleagues saying, ‘A final comprehensive nuclear agreement must constrain Iran’s nuclear infrastructure so that Iran has no pathway to a bomb.’ The Obama administration has utterly failed in making sure Iran will never get a nuclear weapon.”
The deal, which has been criticized by both Republicans and Democrats, is under a 60-day review by Congress before members will vote on it.
“I continue to urge my fellow colleagues to vote to disapprove this misguided deal at the end of the 60-day review period and to vote to override the president’s threatened veto,” Comstock said.
