U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, released the names on Wednesday of the GOP vice chairs for the 12 Appropriations Subcommittees in the 114th Congress. The vice chair serves as chair if the chair is absent and assists the chairperson in official committee business.

The subcommittee vice chairs for the 114th Congress are as follows:

Agriculture: David Valadao (CA); Commerce, Justice, Science: Robert Aderholt (AL); Defense: Kay Granger (TX); Energy and Water: Chuck Fleischmann (TN); Financial Services: Jaime Herrera Beutler (WA); Homeland Security: Rodney Frelinghuysen (NJ); Interior and Environment: Mike Simpson (ID); Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education: Steve Womack (AR); Legislative Branch: Mark Amodei (NV);

Military Construction and Veterans Affairs: Jeff Fortenberry (NE); State and Foreign Operations: Charlie Dent (PA); Transportation, Housing and Urban Development: Kevin Yoder (KS).

“The vice chairs for the Appropriations Committee have distinguished themselves as knowledgeable on the appropriations process and are committed to responsible budgeting,” Rogers said. “These members will play an integral role in bringing each of the 12 appropriations bills from subcommittee to the House floor, and I know that they will live up to the demands of the job over what I expect will be a tough, but successful appropriations year.”
