Crenshaw honored for bringing ABLE Act to law

U.S. Rep Ander Crenshaw (R-FL) was recently recognized by the National Association of County Behavioral Health and Development Disability Directors (NACBHDD) for his diligence in seeing through the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act to become law.

Crenshaw’s bill permits disabled citizens to create tax-exempt savings accounts. It was passed by both chambers last fall and signed into law by President Obama in December.

“The National Association of County Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Directors is delighted to recognize Representative Ander Crenshaw for both outstanding leadership and compassion in the passage of the ABLE Act,” Ron Manderscheid, the association’s executive director, said. “Many millions of disabled Americans will benefit from this landmark legislation. Thank you Congressman Crenshaw on behalf of all county directors in the United States.”
