The National Association for Manufacturers (NAM), the largest industrial trade association in the nation, recently named U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-N.J.) a “Champion of Manufacturing” for supporting policies that enhance the industry.
Lance, a member of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade, is a frequent visitor to manufacturers in his home state to ask in person what they need from Washington, D.C., to be successful. His district includes nearly 600 manufacturing facilities that employ 40,000 New Jersey residents.
“By enacting pro-growth policies, we will empower an American manufacturing renaissance that will create well-paying new jobs, higher wages for existing jobs, and reaffirm the presence of American goods and services in the global market,” Lance said. “Lowering tax rates to compete globally, easing the burdens of regulations, leveraging American-made energy and providing economic incentives to start new projects all will facilitate the type of manufacturing backbone our economy needs.”
The NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence designates key manufacturing votes and honors those who support manufacturing at least 70 percent of the time. In the 113th Congress, 278 senators and representatives earned the distinction.
