Renacci joins House Budget Committee

U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci (R-OH), in addition to his position on the House Ways and Means Committee, recently announced that he will serve on the influential House Budget Committee.

“The House Budget Committee will benefit greatly from Congressman Renacci’s knowledge and expertise – particularly his years of experience in the private sector,” Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-GA) said. “He will help our committee continue its efforts to restore fiscal discipline and promote a healthy economy that benefits more American families, workers and job creators. I look forward to serving with Jim as we work to hold Washington accountable.”

The Budget Committee, which develops the annual budget, sets spending and revenue levels, as well as surplus or deficit levels and the public debt.

“For too long, the federal government’s budget has been operating at unsustainable levels and Washington has failed to act,” Renacci said. “I am looking forward to serving on the Budget Committee and using my private sector experience to work with both sides of the aisle to balance our budget, reign in our nation’s debt, and continue to grow our economy. I look forward to working closely with Chairman Tom Price, and I am honored to be able to use this role as an additional voice for Ohioans.”

A representative of the 16th district of Ohio since 2011, Renacci is also the former mayor of Wadsworth, Ohio. He previously served on the Committee on Financial Services in the 112th Congress, as well as vice chair of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit and as a member of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
