Crenshaw’s office accepting applications for nominations to military academies

U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw (R-FL) said this week that his office is now accepting applications and supporting documentation from students who are interested in being nominated for acceptance into one of the U.S. military-service academies: Naval Academy at Annapolis, Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Military Academy at West Point and the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.

Crenshaw regularly offers this service for youths.

“Our service academies are vital in preparing today’s youth to assume the responsibility and leadership required to become our future military leaders,” Crenshaw, a member of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, said. “I encourage all students interested in attending the nation’s service academies to begin the application process through my office.”

Students may begin the process of nomination to be eligible for a 2016 appointment by filling out an application and submitting all relevant supporting documentation to the congressman’s office no later than Oct. 23. Additional details regarding the process, its requirements and paperwork can be found on Crenshaw’s official website at www.crenshaw.house.gov.

Crenshaw has represented Florida in the U.S. House since 2001. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1944, Crenshaw previously served as a member of the Florida Senate from 1986-1994. Crenshaw was educated at the University of Georgia and University of Florida and is single. Crenshaw serves on the Appropriations Committee.
